Foundations of Painting ~ 4 Week Course

Course Outline
Through step-by-step explanations, demonstrations, and one-on-one coaching from Jenny Hughes your painting skills will improve rapidly in this 4 week course. All supplies included.
Week 1 – Learn the placement of highlights and shadows, where the light is coming from and how it is interacting with object.
Weeks 2 – Understand how to use tonality to give form to your subjects and learn the basics of mixing colors and blending.
Week 3 – A crucial part in painting a successful shadow is identifying what type of shadow it is because there is no such thing as a generic shadow. You need to know what the differences are between a cast shadow & form shadow & how to approach painting them.
Week 4 – Learn how to work with different blending mediums to create transparent, and reflective surfaces. Learn essential principles of reflections and painting water scenery to create convincing reflections and shadows.

Please note our Reduced Capacity & Cleaning Procedures:
Capacities reduced to give the required 6 feet space in between each student.
Markers identify where to walk in the studio.
High touch areas are regularly and thoroughly cleaned using a hospital grade disinfectant that is known to kill viruses.
The floor and high touch areas like brushes, tables, switches and handles will be disinfected after each class.
You are welcome to bring your own brushes and apron.
